Bell Ringers Needed

Fancy a new hobby?

Show Church BellsWhy not join Amport Church Bellringers if you are aged between 8 and 80 years?

Change Ringing is a predominantly English custom started in the early 17th century and has been practised ever since by villagers (either churchgoers or not) and is non-secular. It has been used for centuries to signal joy, warn of danger and summon the faithful.

With declining church numbers, there is a danger that this ancient skill will disappear so please come along and help to preserve this artistry. No musical knowledge is required and the only requirement is the ability to count to six.

We practice on a Friday evening between 7:30 and 9:00 and ring the very rare and gorgeous-sounding ring of 6 bells.

Come along to climb the tower and watch these remarkable 400-year-old bells in action!

Please contact Colin on 07585 309832 for further details.

  1. I am very interested in learning bell ringing for the coronation and possibly to continue after.
