Amport & Monxton Fete 2026

Saturday 4th July · Amport Village

A celebration of fabulous community, local activities, clubs and classes. Day fete, evening Supper on the Green, and the return of the Community Evening Event.

Your Fete

This year’s fete celebrates every aspect of village life: stalls, games, music, food, animals, and competitions galore. Here’s the shape of the day.

Produced in the Parishes

Ten stalls from the local community plus six young entrepreneurs. Kids’ Clothing Stall, Book Stall, Bric a Brac alongside.

All the classics, back again

Splat the Rat, Wellie and Bean Bag Throwing, Coconut Shy, Bottle Stall, Stocks, Beat the Goalie. Hang Tough, Plank Challenge, Running Races and Tug of War for the brave.

For the under-tens

Bouncy castle, trampolines, wand making, Lego station, and circus performers throughout the afternoon.

Alpacas, ponies, tractors

Pony rides, an alpaca meet-and-greet, and the East Cholderton Fête tractor and classic car parade arriving at 11:45.

Live from the green

Brass band, dancing and singing through the afternoon, rolling into kids’ disco, BBQ and live music in the evening.

Competitions galore

Wonky Vegetable, Flowers, Photography, Drawing, Best Victoria Sponge, Show Stopper Cakes, and brand new this year: Best Garden.

Run of Fun

Saturday 4th July, from late morning through to last orders.

Tickets

The day fete is free to enter. Tickets are required for the Children’s Evening Event and for Supper on The Green.

Children's Event

5:00pm – 7:00pm. Kids’ BBQ, silent disco, fun-filled evening for the children.

Supper on The Green

£25

From 7:00pm. Hawk Inn BBQ, full menu (mezze, mains, lamb kofta, picante chicken, charred cauliflower), live music, Heads and Tails, silent and live auction. Fully stocked bar.

Experience Only

£7.50

From 9:45pm. Soak up the atmosphere, buy food from the vans, enjoy the silent disco. No supper included.

Competitions

Most categories — Wonky Vegetables, Flowers, Photography, Drawing, Best Victoria Sponge, Show Stopper Cakes — accept entries on the day. Just turn up with your entry.

Two competitions need advance registration: the Best Garden Competition (judged at your home from 5th June) and Tug of War (teams of four). Sign up below.

One place for everything that needs your name in advance: competition entries, team submissions, volunteering, and donations.

Enter your garden — Best Garden Competition

Judging takes place from 5th June onwards. We’ll arrange directly with entrants. Gardens are open to the public on the day; photographs are taken and displayed at the fête. Prizes for: Love and Care, Creativity and Unique Design, Passion and Planting. Categories: Best Veg Patch, Best Country Garden, Best Roses.

Submit your team — Tug of War

Teams of four. Submit your team name and your strongest teammate so we can get you ready to battle it out on the green.

We need your help — Volunteer & Donate

Whether you can bake a cake, enter a competition, volunteer on a stand, or donate items, every contribution makes a difference. All money raised goes straight back into the community.

Homemade or homegrown for the community stall: cakes and bakes, jams and chutneys, flower arrangements, plants, knitted or embroidered items, handmade crafts.

A batch of scones, cakes or traybakes. Gluten-free treats welcomed.

Children’s clothes, books, toys, bric-a-brac in good condition.

Collection points: Monxton, Amport, East Cholderton.
Collection dates: 18th May – 29th June.

Parking

Free parking, signposted on approach to the village. Please follow the marshals on the day.
